All day workshop at Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe.

8:30am to 9:30am    Meditation and Asana Practice
9:30am to 12:30pm  Outer Limbs: Yama-s, Shaucha and Santosha
12:30pm to 1:00pm  Asana Practice
1:00 to 2:00pm         Lunch (vegetarian, included)
2:00pm to 5:00pm    Middle Limbs: Kriya-Yoga, Asana, and Pranayama

How can we live in alignment with the core teachings of yoga? Patanjali, author of the Yoga Sutras, ordered the eight limbs of yoga deliberately from outer to inner. The first four limbs of yoga are essential for getting along with others, replacing detrimental behavioral patterns with helpful ones, and purifying our body, heart, and psyche in order to prepare us for our journey inward. We will chant call-and-response all relevant sutras, translate them directly from the Sanskrit, then dig down deeply into the meanings of all related Sanskrit terms. Hear and discuss what the sutra-s say about the yama-s, niyama-s, asana and pranayama. Handouts and practice exercises are included.

I think Nicolai's presentation was EXCELLENT. I really enjoyed learning about the cakras. He made it sound so much more logical and grounded than most present on this topic. Connecting the marmas, nadis and cakras just makes sense! And I had never really looked at the verses in the HYP (Hatha Yoga Pradipika). Most importantly, I had one of my most settled meditation experiences last night. I could have sat for hours! Chanting was a wonderful way to awaken the energy in each cakra. I truly could feel the support of that kundalini energy moving up my spine. I was a little "high" when I came home and had to stay up for a few hours to settle.
